Proud news comes from Indonesia's national energy sector at the start of this year. Pertamina, through its subsidiary Pertamina Internasional EP (PIEP), has successfully executed the shipment of 1 million barrels of crude oil from the Menzel Ledjmet Nord (MLN) field in Algeria, directly to refineries in Indonesia.

This moment is about more than just volume figures. For us industry players, this is a symbol of Energy Sovereignty. It is tangible proof of the "Bring The Barrel Home" strategy—demonstrating that Indonesian talent is capable of managing upstream assets on the global stage and bringing the benefits back home to strengthen domestic refinery supply.

Upstream to Downstream Synergy

The success of transporting crude oil over thousands of kilometers reminds us of one crucial thing: Energy Ecosystem Connectivity.

Massive efforts in the Upstream sector to secure supply must be balanced with infrastructure reliability in the Downstream sector to process and distribute it. The oil brought home requires secure storage facilities, reliable refineries, and a precise distribution network so its benefits can be felt by the community.

This shipment process is the result of integrated synergy within Pertamina's Subholdings, involving:

• Subholding Upstream (PHE) through PIEP and PAEP as the hydrocarbon producers abroad;

• Subholding Shipping (PT Pertamina International Shipping - PIS) as the executor of reliable international shipping; and

• Subholding Refining & Petrochemical (PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional - KPI) as the buyer and refinery operator domestically.

Through this strong and sustainable collaboration, PIEP is committed to continuously optimizing the potential of Block 405A to support national energy security and strengthen the strategic partnership between Indonesia and Algeria.

PAMITRA's Commitment to National Energy

As an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, & Construction) contractor grown within the national Oil & Gas sector, PAMITRA welcomes this achievement with full optimism.

We view this as a long-term strategic step for all industry stakeholders to continuously improve and increase capacity. We believe that long-term energy security is not the task of a single entity, but the result of close collaboration between the government, State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), and the private sector.

Congratulations to Pertamina and the entire Indonesian oil and gas community. This one million barrels is a great start. Let us maintain this momentum to realize the vision of sustainable Indonesian energy independence.
