Kicking off the PAMITRA LEAD Summit 2026 at the Mount Bromo area, PAMITRA held a Team Building session filled with transformative meaning. Carrying the grand theme of "Leading to Serve, Serving to Win", this agenda was designed as a crucible to forge a Servant Leadership mentality and tear down the walls of sectoral egos between departments.
This transformation was immediately felt from the start of the activity through the dynamics of team formation. All participants, ranging from staff to the board of directors, were merged into six new groups. Autonomously, each group was given the freedom to determine their own team leader. Interestingly, in this simulation, all structural positions in the office suddenly did not apply on the field. A director or manager could serve as a regular member, while a staff member could be elected to lead the team's strategy. By letting go of these positional attributes, PAMITRA instilled a fundamental message that true leadership is not born from a hierarchy, but from the team's trust and the willingness to be led in order to achieve a common goal.
This dynamic of equality was then further tested through a simulation to conquer VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity) challenges. In this session, each group was given a mission to assemble puzzle pieces representing the company's core values. However, this process was not easy as the committee deliberately introduced various distractions reflecting the uncertainties in the real working world. The groups were required to possess agility, think critically, and remain meticulous regarding sudden changes in instructions, all while continuing to formulate the most effective problem-solving strategies.
The understanding of collaboration was further sharpened through a construction project execution simulation using Lego blocks. To complete it, the team had to divide roles into three crucial elements that could not overlap. Some acted as Analyzers to view the main design and formulate a strategy, then Communicators tasked with translating the strategic language into technical instructions, and finally the Executors tasked with assembling the building purely based on the Communicator's instructions. This simulation trained participants to focus on their respective tasks while prioritizing the speed and accuracy of the communication service chain. It became evident that the key to successful field execution relies on leaders capable of providing clear directions, representing the true embodiment of Servant Leadership oriented towards serving the needs of the executing team.
After overcoming various physically and mentally draining obstacles, the event concluded with an emotional surprise during the peak session titled One PAMITRA. The groups that previously felt they had won every round of the game turned out to have only received a small fraction of pieces from a giant company flag. They finally realized that no single group could win or complete the mission alone.
Furthermore, the completing pieces of the flag were not solely held by group representatives but were secretly entrusted to certain individuals. This moment of uniting the PAMITRA flag became a tangible symbol of the collapse of sectoral egos. Participants were reminded that the company's success is never determined by a single department claiming to be the greatest, but is rather the result of the contribution, dedication, and integration of every individual within it.
Through this series of Team Building activities in the nature of Mount Bromo, PAMITRA's leaders are expected to return to their desks carrying a new perspective: ready to serve in order to win future challenges, together as one unified entity.
